BudgetaryNeeds

I miss running and I am blaming it on the staggering registrations fees of organized runs. Lame justification? Sure, but joining these organized runs is a motivation for me to run, may it be recreationally or competitively. Isn’t it enough to have fitness as a motivation to continue running?

Improving endurance and building stamina are the benefits of running. I absolutely know that. However, these I can derive from engaging in other sports, just like badminton or swimming. With an average registration fee of 800 PHP each race, I could play badminton for 32 hours. That is more cost effective, I think.

On the other hand, these days, I play badminton twice a week costing me 140 PHP per day. That means 280 PHP a week. Multiply it by 4, that would total to 1120 PHP a month. If I would run monthly at an average cost of 800 PHP, then running would be more cost effective. Thus, I was thinking that I must cut my badminton to only once a week and allot a day for running. Question however is, could I really resist something that I like?

Arrrgghh. Indeed fitness has its monetary cost.

My officemates are running enthusiasts and they themselves realize that the prices are more challenging than the actual race itself. They showed me an article about the law-of-supply-and-demand concept in organizing those races and somehow it all adds up.

I find it cheaper to have a gym membership instead.
